About my work

At the heart of my work is a celebration of beauty, light and nature.

I strive to capture the fleeting essence of the seasons, the textures, the colours and the subtle changes in light that mark the passage of time, and emphasise  the intricate interplay between all of these.

Each composition is carefully curated, often requiring days to achieve the perfect balance of light and detail.

My work explores the organic and the ethereal, blending seasonal flowers with a keen eye for detail. I aim to create images that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also deeply evocative, images that speak to the transient nature of life and the beauty found in the smallest of moments, inviting the viewer to pause and reflect.

Through my photography, I hope to inspire viewers to rediscover the magic in everyday life, to take a moment to notice the beauty around them, and to cultivate a deeper appreciation for the changing seasons.

About the artist

My journey into photography is deeply rooted in my connection to the cycles of nature, a constant source of inspiration throughout my life. From a young age, I was drawn to the roses in my grandmother's garden, sparking a lasting love for flowers and the way nature’s beauty evolves with the seasons. This early connection to the natural world continues to inform my work.

I was also captivated by the dramatic play of light and shadow in art, particularly in the works of the Dutch Masters, buying postcards of their paintings on visits to the National Gallery as a child. Their ability to capture the delicate balance between life and death in their still-lifes left a lasting impression on me.

Prior to focussing on fine art photography, I worked as a stylist and trained as a florist, both of which are reflected in the composition of my work.

Having people appreciate and find joy in my art is an incredible priviledge for which I am always grateful.
